About this place
Mellieħa Bay, also known as Għadira Bay, is Malta’s largest sandy beach and one of the island’s most popular swimming spots. Its long stretch of sand and generally shallow water make it especially popular with families and visitors looking for a relaxed beach day. The bay is surrounded by the scenic northern Maltese landscape and has plenty of space for swimming and sunbathing, although it can become very busy during the summer months. VisitMalta also lists Mellieħa Bay as a Blue Flag beach.
Please note: It can get very busy during summer. Always follow lifeguard flags and local sea-safety advice.
