About this place
Tas-Salvatur Hill, also known as Tal-Merżuq, is one of Gozo’s most recognisable landmarks. At its summit stands a large statue of the Risen Christ, while the hilltop offers impressive 360-degree views across the island. The site also has a long connection with local religious tradition and folklore, with earlier statues having stood on the hill before the present reinforced-concrete figure was installed in the 1970s.
Please note: Bring water, wear sturdy shoes and avoid climbing during the hottest part of the day, especially in summer. The climb is steep and rocky, with uneven ground and exposed areas near the summit, so it may not be suitable for very young children.
