About this place

Tritons’ Fountain is one of the first landmarks visitors encounter when arriving in Valletta. Located just outside the capital’s City Gate, the fountain features three bronze Tritons supporting a large circular basin, reflecting Malta’s strong connection with the sea. Its prominent position makes it a popular meeting point and photo stop before entering Valletta’s historic centre. The surrounding pedestrianised square also makes it easy to combine a visit with a walk through City Gate and into central Valletta.
Please note: The fountain may occasionally not be operating due to maintenance, weather or events, but the landmark and surrounding square remain visitable.
